Apex Lane has started weekly online drift events in Neon Drift Tokyo. Each event runs from Friday to Monday on a different part of the city, and the top 10% of players earn a car livery that cannot be bought in the shop.
How the new scoring works
Version 4.1.2 changes how drifts are scored. Before the update, touching a wall on a tight corner reset your whole combo. Now a light touch only halves the multiplier, while a hard crash still resets it. Long, clean drifts still earn the most points, but one small mistake no longer ruins a good run.
- Drift angle and speed set the base points.
- Chaining drifts without straightening the car raises the multiplier, up to x8.
- A light wall touch halves the multiplier; a crash resets it.
Four new cars
The update also adds four cars, including a lightweight hatchback that is easy to control for new players. All four can be earned through events or bought with in-game credits.
Neon Drift Tokyo is a large download at 950 MB, and online events need a stable connection. Check the game page for requirements before you update.
