Shadow Blade Ronin adds New Game+ and a boss rush mode

Kitsune Forge's sword-fighting adventure gets two of its most requested features in version 2.0.3, plus better performance on mid-range phones.

Kitsune Forge has released version 2.0.3 of Shadow Blade Ronin, and it adds the two features players asked for most since launch: New Game+ and a boss rush mode.

New Game+

After you finish the story you can start again with every blade and upgrade you collected. Enemies hit harder, parry windows are shorter, and three bosses get new attack patterns. Your first save is not touched; New Game+ uses a separate slot.

Boss rush

Boss rush puts all 14 boss fights back to back with a timer. You can choose any blade before you start, and your best time is saved on the online leaderboard if you are signed in.

Smoother on mid-range phones

The update also improves the frame rate on phones with 4 GB of RAM. In our test on a mid-range phone, the busiest fights now stay close to 60 frames per second on the medium preset.

The APK is 1.2 GB and needs Android 9.0 or newer. Read our full review of Shadow Blade Ronin for what we think of the game overall.
